About Orchard Park

Mission Statement:

Orchard Park exists to glorify God by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and making disciples devoted to Him.

We are committed to joining with Christ in His mission to build His Church, the Body of Christ, both locally and globally, by teaching the Word of God, and showing the love of Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

What determines our mission?

Our mission is rooted in the Great Commission of Jesus Christ:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.  And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20, ESV).

We seek to fulfill this mission by accomplishing these foundational priorities:

REACHING: MAKING FULLY DEVOTED FOLLOWERS OF JESUS CHRIST

By declaring and living the powerful Gospel of Jesus Christ, we seek to promote the person and work of Christ as the only way to salvation, and to a right relationship with God.  We will lead others to trust in Christ, and to fully devote their lives to following him as His disciples (John 14:6; Luke 9:23-24).

BUILDING: HELPING BELIEVERS GROW IN THEIR FAITH AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST AND HIS BODY

By living, preaching, and teaching the Word of God, we seek to give God’s Word the central place it deserves in growing believers in their faith, walk in Christ, and in the world.  We uphold the complete sufficiency and authority of the Scriptures to direct, guide, encourage, challenge and correct our lives, relationships, and ministry.

We will rely on the enabling power and direction of the Spirit of God to accomplish the growth and maturity God desires in and through us (John 14:26; Eph. 4:13-15; Col. 2:6-8; 2 Tim. 2:15; 4:1-4; Hebrews 4:12).

EQUIPPING: TRAINING WORKERS TO BRING OTHERS TO CHRIST AND MINISTER TO THEIR PEERS

By teaching, training, and mentoring the principles of God’s Word, we seek to equip and encourage believers to be fully devoted servants of Christ, His church, our community, and the world.

We affirm the work of the Spirit of God in gifting and enabling every believer to serve in and through the Body of Christ, the Church.

We will encourage and support every believer in fulfilling their part of service in and through the Body of Christ, for His glory (Romans 12; Ephesians 4:14-16; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:3-11).

MULTIPLYING: DEVELOPING LEADERS TO NURTURE THE PROCESS OF DISCIPLESHIP AND GROWTH OF THE MINISTRY

By equipping, mentoring and encouragement, we seek to identify and cultivate those individuals whom God has placed among us to give leadership and direction to our church, its ministries and our connection to the world for the cause of Christ, and building the kingdom of God.

We will encourage the scope and growth of our ministry by ensuring that we understand our times,  and how we can show Christ’s love in meeting the needs of the world around us (2 Tim. 2:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; Matthew 5:1-9).
