The spiritual ground in Portugal is hard. Religion has been misused and God’s name has been thrown around. Though it is considered a Catholic country, each year more people are claiming no religion and of those who say they are Catholic, approximately twenty percent attend mass. The sad reality is that very few have actually heard the message of the Gospel.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for He has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed with be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come” Luke 4:18-19
Operation Christmas Child
This very special ministry provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on project of Samaritan’s Purse which focuses on the true meaning of Christmas – Jesus Christ – God’s greatest gift.
Join us each year in November as we prepare shoeboxes for children around the world living in war, poverty and disaster. Boxes are available in the church foyer in late October.
